Limiting searches
You can limit the results of a search in various ways e.g. to exam papers or electronic resources or books published after 1990.
Quick Limit
Quick Limit can be used only in Title, Journal Title, and Call Number options in Basic Search.
- Choose the relevant location under Quick Limit.
- Enter your search terms and choose search options as usual.
More limits
More Limits can be used in Title, Journal Title and Call Number options of Basic Search, and in Guided keywords. It limits searches by Language, Location, Date or Item type. Note! Search limits stay in effect for all subsequent searches until you clear them.
- Click More limits and choose one or more of the limits. For example:
To limit to books published between 1995 and 1997, choose:

To limit to books published after 1999, choose:

To limit to videos, choose:

- Choose Set limits to return to the Search screen. Then enter your search terms as usual.
- Search limits stay in effect until you clear them.
Post limit: Search results limit
All types of search can also be limited at the results display. Click Post Limit and choose limits as for More limits. This is the only way to limit Author, Subject Heading, Series Title and Composer/Author searches. Note! Search limits stay in effect for all subsequent searches until you clear them.
